That time of the year
This time of the year most people are consumed with ball sports, you know the ones like football and basketball. Not me. I'm more I.to the sports that actually takes balls to participate in. The sport I'm mainly referring to is folk-style scholastic wrestling. I will be covering the NYS Super Sectional tournament, or if you wanna get all technical, the State Qualifier tournament at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The states best wrestlers will be here duking it out for the top spot. I wrestled for 5 years during high-school for Jasper Troupsburg High in the 189 pound division. I nearly made it to supers three years in a row but missed the seat by one spot. Ever since then I have participated in the sport but now I can give back to the sport through my photography. Stay tuned for more.

photo update
Been working my tail off in the bitter cold here in western New York photographing snowcross, skiing, and as of late, landscapes. Please check my website at www.Garretthamilton.com and check out some of the new pics I posted in the "Landscape / Fine Art" section and please let me know what you think. My main goal as a photographer is to take photographs of the things that are important to me and things that people typically tend to walk right past or turn a cheek to. This is my world and I'm going to live in it.

All These Pretty Horses

Just spent the last two (2) days in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania photographing a horse show / auction. The venue was the Pennsylvania State Farm Show Complex on Cameron Street. With packed parking lots and bleachers, the crowds were heavy and a lot of buying, trading was to be had. This was my first time at an auction of this caliber and the dutchment traveling with me, told the auctioneers on hand, were top knotch, hall-of-famers, which added to my increasing interest. Heres one photo from the event, possibly my person favorite, because of the essence of the sport and detail of it, without actually seeing the four-legged beast which pulls it. More to come!

Winter is Upon us, for real this time.

Winter has been in full effect here in Western New York the last few days as we've received nearly a foot of white powder! Pretty neat considering it was nearly 60 degrees a few weeks ago. My trust Subaru and myself went for a lil' Wintry cruise and snapped a few shots.
I am now in what I call the "dead" part my year where not much goes on. I will be updating the blog as best and as frequently as possible so be sure to keep checking back and staying in the know!
